Daily Yopp! 1.15.17 - Prepare to March!

Today's Yopp! is focused on preparing for the upcoming Womens March on Washington on Saturday, January 21st as well as the hundreds of sister marches around the world (370 at last count).

Since we're all at different places with this, I'm going to offer a few actions so all of us can be involved.

ACTION 1: If you are marching, make a commitment to at least one friend or a plan with your group about where and when you will meet. Write that down and make a plan for transportation. If the marches are too far to travel, consider getting together with a small group in your area and holding a small demonstration.

ACTION 2: Make a banner or placards to carry during the march. For a quick and easy option, print one or more of these art posters from the Amplifier Foundation: Women's March Posters  You can also find other downloadable posters on that same website as well as others websites.

ACTION 3: Call, email, or write your MoCs (Members of Congress) urging them to participate in the march. If they are unfriendly, then explain why you are choosing to march or support the marchers.

ACTION 4: Check this website for the march nearest you, find its Facebook page, and encourage friends to sign up.  Sister Marches  While you are on the page for the march you are attending, register as a marcher so they have a count. This is for both security/bathroom reasons as well as data collection.

ACTION 5: If you are a knitter/crocheter, make a few pink kitty hats for marchers. Details here: PussyHat Project

Okay...hopefully that gives each of you something to do!
