Daily Yopp! 3.2.17 - Impeach Jeff Sessions!!

We called for the Senate to reject Jeff Sessions, but he was confirmed. We demanded that there be a serious investigation into the Russia connections, but so far there has been little. Maybe now it's time for a win on our side.

Jeff Sessions himself said that if a public official commits perjury, they should be impeached. He voted to impeach President Bill Clinton over a blue dress. These accusations are borderline treason. By his own logic, Sessions should be impeached.

Here is a video of Sessions lying to Senator Al Franken during the confirmation hearings.

The House and Senate play different roles with regards to the impeachment process, so you need different scripts. Here's what to do:

STEP 1: FIND OUT WHO YOUR CONGRESSPEOPLE ARE

Use this handy website to determine who your representatives are. Make note of their phone number. Each member of Congress (MoC) also has at least one regional office back in their state. Go to their website to get a local number. Email works for some MoCs, but when the issue is as critical as this, calling is best. We need to flood their phone lines.

STEP 2: CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE

The House of Representatives is charged with initiating impeachment proceedings. Start with them.

Script: I am a constituent of Representative _______________ and I would like him/her to either initiate or sign on to legislation that impeaches Attorney General Jeff Sessions for perjury during his Senate confirmation hearings when Senator Franken asked him whether he had had any contact with Russia.

STEP 3: CALL YOUR SENATORS

The Senate confirmed the nomination of Jeff Sessions a couple weeks ago based in part on his testimony under oath. It appears that he lied under oath, which is a serious offense. The Senate doesn't initiate impeachment proceedings, so at this stage they should demand that he step down.

Script: I am a constituent of Senator _______________ and I would like him/her to demand the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions for reasons of his perjury during the Senate confirmation hearings. At a minimum, the Congressman should demand an independent investigation into the Russian hacking and a full recusal by Sessions from that investigation.

STEP 4: SHARE THIS YOPP!
We need to get the public on the phones and in the streets. We need to flood our MoCs' phone lines.

I'll put some links below for more information. This is a BIG story. At the very least, you should call so you have some skin in the game when things start going off.

Yours in Solidarity!

  1. I'm not usually for the death penalty, but for Treason I'll make an exception...
