Daily Yopp! 1.13.17 - Tillerson Takedown

We need to double-down on the Rex Tillerson Secretary of State nomination. This guy is bad news and he's clearly in it to benefit Exxon.

I'm taking this from another blog, Daily Action. A couple minor alterations.

DAY TWO TILLERSON TAKEDOWN
Today’s Daily Action is to express your concerns about Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State to a randomly selected member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Because the committee is composed of 10 Democrats and 11 Republicans, we need just *one* Republican to vote against Tillerson to deliver Donald Trump his first big defeat.

Residents of Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, Idaho, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Delaware, Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Wyoming, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, New Mexico, Connecticut, Virginia, Massachusetts, Oregon, and New Jersey have Senators on the committee, so it is crucial that you folks make the call.
If you’re connected to Marco Rubio (FLORIDA), please thank him for asking tough questions about Tillerson’s relationship with Russia yesterday, and putting country over party. If you're connected to anyone else, you can say something as simple as, "I'm not comfortable with Tillerson's relationship with Russia and I hope you'll vote against him," or "I'm deeply concerned with Tillerson's oil business interests in Russia and other parts of the world and feel that he would misuse his position if approved."
Also, call your two senators and ask them to encourage the committee to reject Tillerson and let them know that if if goes to the floor, you expect a NO vote.

If you'd like to make additional calls, I've posted the phone numbers of the committee members' district and DC offices. (And apologies for inconsistent formatting of phone numbers--all that cutting and pasting wore me out!)

The Republican senator from Florida was the unlikely source for some of the toughest questions levelled at the Secretary of State nominee during confirmation hearings.
